The number of newly employed people in South Korea in February increased by more than 260-thousand on-year... the biggest increase in 13 months.<br />According to Statistics Korea, public sector jobs and agricultural jobs for the elderly increased sharply while manufacturing jobs continued to fall.<br />The number of unemployed, however, continued to increase, reaching 1-point-three million people.<br />The overall unemployment rate hit a nine-year-high of 4-point-7 percent in February.<br />The youth unemployment rate was more than double the overall jobless rate. <br />
